The Guthrie Theater holds a special place in my heart. It was the first job I ever had, and I had the privilege of witnessing countless remarkable performances. The Guthrie Theater became my artistic sanctuary, igniting a passion within me that continues to shape my creative journey. To encapsulate the profound impact this theater had on me, I wrote an artist statement that delves into the depths of my connection with this extraordinary institution. When asked to create original illustrations for the Guthrie Theater, I eagerly chose two shows that left a lasting impression on my creative mind: Pride and Prejudice and Caroline or Change. From these shows, I carefully selected quotes that capture the transformative power of theater and the profound life lessons it offers to its audiences. These illustrations stand not only as a tribute to the Guthrie Theater but also as a reflection of the enduring impact it has had on my artistic soul.
